As I mentioned transport in Budapest, it is vital to include whether is it easy to take the transport without buying tickets.
and it is nearly impossible to do so in any mode of transport in Sweden (not sure about small city though)
Even though there are a lot of people taking the bus, the driver would only open the front gate
Moreover, purchasing tickets onboard is not available. There is one ticket machine even in station near the cruise station, which probably take you 30 minutes for queuing the machine
and each ticket is only valid for 75 minutes, which mean you can't buy several tickets at once for the whole day.
I would recommend using SL app, it is convenient to buy tickets for any mode of transport and it is required to enter the bank information for once only
However, it is for single journey ticket only

and even the metro station
There are discounted tickets for student and also different types of tickets in the machine, which is not available in SL app.
