Cheaper than outlet! Markthaus /Mannheim, Germany

The idea of markthaus is to sell second-hand goods. They sold items in a super decent price despite excellent condition of the goods. If you are having ERASMUS study or short-term stay in Germany, definitely you can't bring anything back. Some daily necessities like water bottles or kitchen utensils, you need them but you won't bring them back. It is a choice another than purchasing a new item for a few months use only.

Markthaus is located in almost every cities. If you search in google map, there are usually a few of them but make sure to visit the biggest one. The biggest one in the town is called Markthaus Gmbh

The one in Mannheim is located in Floßwörthstraße, taking Tram No.1 with the direction of Rheinau Karlsplatz. You may drop off in either Voltastraße or its next station. It is easier to drop off at the next station.

Walk straight to the road with Mcdonald, passing railway and colorful building rarely seen in Mannheim

Here you are

The clothes are in excellent condition. I bought a jacket here and I wore it for an entire winter. It's not a down jacket one but still very warm. It was 9.9€ only and I saw the one selling in shops costs 40€

But they are limited choices of hoodie and trousers are quite big for me, so I didn't do much shopping on it

Art painting

I bought quite a few drawings and painting here. They hang the art works on the wall and decorate it as an art exhibition. They cost 5€ to 20€, depends on the size.

Books

My another favorite items here are books. The price is set by weighting, 3.3€ per kg for all books. They have a small column of English books only yet books are added whenever I visited the store.

There are many teapots and cups as well. Unfortunately, the area is closed for maintenance at the moment

It's like treasure hunting whenever I go. Second-hand goods are not something you don't want. You don't need them anymore but they still have their own values. Some local customers were dressing well and hunting the things they may want. Being poor is not the only reason to visit second-hand shop too! If you think you need something and probably can't bring them back, Markthaus is a good choice.
