The zone of concentration camp is included in day ticket if you buy one in city center. If you have visited other cities of Germany before, you will notice that München is quite similar with other city in term of city center and architecture style. I would say it is a must to visit Dachau concentration camp if you want to know more the local history, especially how do they develop as a powerful country now.
The area is big and you can rent audio guide at 3€. (UNFORTUNATELY they accept cash only) it's better to join their English tour at 11am and 1pm because the tour guide would share with you some information not listed there. There are many tour groups visiting every day and it is interesting to hear what the local guide saying as well.
The area is well-preserved and felt quite stressed when all the plants and trees are dead in winter
Gate with the word -Arbeit macht Frei- work and set you free is built in every concentration camp around the world. The funniest thing is about somebody stole the gate a few years ago and nobody knew who stole it. But recently, the gate is returned to the campsite again.
The living area of prisoners is being reconstructed. As you can see in the picture, the living condition is worse and too tiny.
