1-2 days/Köln card/art & theatre, Christmas market
Coming back from Arabic country after black Friday, that's really make me feel the Christmas atmosphere in Europe. I have spent one day in Köln, which famous of its Christmas market.
The main landmark, Dom, is located next to Köln main train station. Köln Bonn airport is like 20 minutes train to the city center. I would recommended any flight departure or arrival in Köln could spend a day or two to visit Köln.
It has the second-tallest spires and one of the largest Gothic churches in Europe. (The largest Romanesque church is in Speyer) It has the combination of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague from its outlook and Milano Duomo when you enter the cathedral.

Like love locks in Pont Notre-Dame Paris, there are many couples visiting this place. It's interesting to read those love messages if you are coming alone and as free as I am.
Below is the rhine, theatre is located across the road. They have everything and perfect for a chilling afternoon.
#Neumarket + Christmas market
The city center of Köln with all kinds of fashion brand, department store and even supermarket here! It's similar to marktplaz of any other cities in Germany, but I would like to highlight the Christmas market here. It opens from late Nov till Christmas each year. Köln has the most traditional Christmas market. Although I come a bit early and the Christmas market is not ready yet, the decorations here would make you feel as if it's December already.
