Shenzhen is a port city near Hong Kong, you could take mtr from any station to Lo Wu station. After leaving the station and crossing the bridge, there are passport control for entering Shenzhen area, please check if you need visa to China (sometime you need one even it is free visa to Hong Kong)

We went during the weekday. It is less crowded when you compare to weekend time. Shenzhen is popular for Hong Kong people to spend their holiday like a day trip. They called it as "travel to the North " (Shenzhen is located at the North part of Hong Kong)

If you are looking for exploring the nature or local culture, Shenzhen might not be a good choice. The architecture and living style is quite similar to Hong Kong, But the price here are a lot cheaper than Hong Kong in term of entertainment.

Many people like eating out in Shenzhen. It is 2-3 times less expensive than Hong Kong but higher quality and less crowded.

Hotpot

Hotpot culture is quite popular because Chinese likes gathering and eating with their beloved friends and relative. Sometimes they ordered 2 hotpot flavor, like spicy and sweet sour flavors. It is special that you could order drink from other shops and bring it into the restaurant. E-ordering like Meituen become famous in China nowadays. People won't order food and drink at the same shop. They would take-away the drinks from other shops.

btw eating hotpot is relatively expensive, compare to other restaurants. The meal costs 7€

Drinks

As mentioned above, people used to take-away the drinks from cafe or small shops. In fact, there are more and more brands enter to Chinese market. Compare with Hong Kong, the shops here are well-decorated and you could spend a whole afternoon here.

As for the drinks, they offered different styles of drinks, I have tried Green tea with milk 2€ and purple sweet potato Latte 1.5€. They are awesome and I felt like I was eating a sweet potato when I was drinking Latte.

Heytea is famous of its cheese tea, which take 2-3 hours for queuing during peak hours.

**Tips: drink without straw so you could taste the cheese & milk.

While Look Cafe is a new set-up cafe brand. It called "look", which is the pronunciation of deer in Chinese. The decoration is really cool and it tasted like eating a sweet potato when I drank the Latte

We even receive a free drink coupon~

Hey yo (they like using hey as their shop name haha) is a bakery selling freash yogurt and bread with yogurt. Mainland Chinese like eating yogurts and their bread are quite expensive when you compare to normal bakery.

2.2€ for 2

Supermarket

People like doing shopping in supermarket because they sold a variety of products, while are very different from Hong Kong. Sometimes you have to store your bags and things bought from other shops outside. Even you have your shopping bag, put your shopping items inside the basket, instead of your bag to avoid any misunderstanding.
